Science First, Always
Every decision, from which variety to plant to how we package a shipment, starts with the science. If the data does not support it, we do not do it.
To become a trusted source of characterised, standardised cannabinoid ingredients from Africa, built on pharmaceutical science and traceable from seed to certificate of analysis.
To develop a vertically integrated cannabinoid operation in Uganda that combines disciplined agriculture with drug-discovery-grade science, producing raw materials, extracts, and isolated compounds that meet the quality expectations of regulated markets worldwide.
Westhood Global Co. Ltd. is a Kampala-based company operating under a government-issued cannabis cultivation licence in Uganda. We are building a vertically integrated operation to grow, process, and supply pharmaceutical-grade cannabinoid raw materials and extracts to manufacturers across the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food-ingredient, and cosmetic sectors worldwide.
Our operations are designed to span the entire value chain: from varietal selection, nursery propagation, and field cultivation on licensed Ugandan farmland, through post-harvest processing, extraction, distillation, and chromatographic purification, to third-party certified finished ingredients ready for formulation.
We exist because the global cannabinoid ingredient market needs a reliable, licence-compliant, vertically integrated source that can deliver consistent quality at commercial scale. That is what we are building.
The company's on-ground operations are led by Mr. Samir Gadhetharia, an Indian-origin entrepreneur permanently based in Kampala, who founded Westhood Global and oversees all operational, commercial, and regulatory activities in Uganda. The scientific and technical strategy is directed by Dr. Gagan Goswami, a drug-discovery scientist with over 19 years of pharmaceutical R&D experience, ensuring that every stage of development meets the analytical and regulatory standards expected by serious manufacturers.
Every decision, from which variety to plant to how we package a shipment, starts with the science. If the data does not support it, we do not do it.
We share data, not marketing claims. Our buyers see the same test results we see. If a batch does not meet specification, we say so. Trust in this industry is earned with data.
Building a credible cannabinoid ingredient company takes years, not months. We do not cut corners to ship faster, and we do not make promises about timelines we cannot keep.
We want long-term relationships with buyers, formulators, and researchers who share our standards and want a dependable source they can plan their own product development around.
We operate within the law, fully and without exception. Our licence, documentation, dealings with authorities, and contracts with partners. Everything is above board and available for review.
Our cultivation programme is being established on 100 acres of licensed farmland in Uganda under a government-issued licence. We are growing select cannabis cultivars optimised for cannabinoid content, terpene profiles, and agronomic performance in Uganda's equatorial climate.
Cultivars selected for target cannabinoid profiles (CBD, CBG, THC as permitted), yield stability, and disease resistance. Seed stock sourced from certified genetic programmes.
Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) from nursery propagation through transplanting, irrigation, integrated pest management, and harvest timing based on trichome maturity assessment.
Controlled drying, curing, and milling under monitored temperature and humidity conditions. Biomass stored in food-grade packaging with full lot traceability.
Our product development programme targets bulk and custom-specification extracts, distillates, isolates, and crude oils for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and cosmetic applications.
Crystalline powder. Pharma and nutraceutical grade. Non-psychoactive. Third-party COA planned with every lot.
Golden viscous oil. Terpene-rich or terpene-free configurations. For tinctures, softgels, topicals.
White crystalline powder. The “mother cannabinoid.” Growing demand in dermatological and anti-inflammatory formulations.
Contains the natural cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile of the source cultivar. For manufacturers seeking entourage-effect formulations.
First-pass extraction output. Feedstock for further refinement or for manufacturers with in-house purification capacity.
Target cannabinoid ratios, specific terpene profiles, or custom carrier-oil formulations to your specification. Minimum order quantities apply.
Our scientific operations are led by Dr. Gagan Goswami, a drug-discovery scientist with more than 19 years of experience across pharmaceutical R&D, pharmacology, phytochemistry, ADME, formulation science, and translational research. This depth of pharmaceutical expertise is being applied to every stage of our cannabinoid programme, from cultivar selection through analytical method development and product certification protocols.
Uganda offers a rare combination of legal framework, equatorial growing conditions, and cost-structure advantages that make it one of the most compelling locations for cannabinoid cultivation in the world.
Uganda has an established licensing system for cannabis cultivation. Westhood Global operates under a valid licence and in full compliance with Ugandan law.
Consistent photoperiod, fertile volcanic soils, adequate rainfall, and the potential for year-round cultivation. Unlike temperate regions, Uganda allows continuous production planning.
Land, labour, and operational costs are a fraction of North America, Europe, or Australia. A genuine structural advantage that allows investment in quality infrastructure at competitive cost.
Practical access to East African ports for shipment to European, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Australian markets. As African trade corridors develop, this geographic position becomes increasingly valuable.
Westhood Global operates within one of Africa's most clearly defined cannabis regulatory frameworks. Uganda's licensing regime permits cultivation for medicinal and scientific purposes, and our operations are being established in full compliance with the conditions of our government-issued licence.
Regulatory compliance is foundational, not aspirational. Our facility, field operations, and export documentation are being structured to meet the import requirements of destination markets in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific.
We maintain open channels with regulatory authorities and engage proactively on evolving compliance requirements. Full documentation packages, including licence copies, COAs, safety data sheets, and export permits, will be provided to qualified buyers upon request.
Each phase produces tangible output, generates real data, and reduces the risk of the next. We do not move forward until the current phase is done properly.
